Privacy Policy
Effective 31 May 2026
Plain-English: we collect what we need to keep your CV online and help you edit it. We don't train AI on your data. We don't sell it. The rest of this page explains the details.
1. The short version
- We collect the email you sign in with and the CV content you save.
- Your public CV page is public — anyone with the URL can see it.
- We don't train AI on your data, and we don't sell it.
- You can export or delete your CV any time from the dashboard.
The rest of this page explains those points in detail.
2. What we collect
Account data. Your email address (for sign-in via magic link) and your chosen username (which becomes the path on baissoncv.app/yourname).
CV content.Anything you type into or upload to the editor: your name, photo, summary, experience, education, skills, projects, contact details, and the visual template you've chosen.
Uploaded files. When you upload a résumé (PDF, DOCX, or JSON Resume) we keep the original file in object storage so you can re-import it later without re-uploading.
Billing data.If you're on a paid plan, our payment processor handles your card or transfer details. We don't store full card numbers — only the processor's customer reference, the plan, and the renewal date.
Operational logs. Standard web-server logs: IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp. Kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
3. How we use your data
We use your data only to:
- Deliver the service — render your CV, save your edits, generate PDFs.
- Authenticate you via magic-link email.
- Run AI extraction and AI suggestions on the plans that include them.
- Bill you (on paid plans) and email receipts.
- Send essential service emails — sign-in links, billing notices, security alerts.
- Diagnose problems and keep the site secure.
We don't profile you for advertising, we don't share your data with marketers, and we don't sell it.
4. Subprocessors
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate BaissonCV. Each handles a specific slice of your data:
- Anthropic — processes the AI extraction and suggestion requests on plans that include them. Anthropic does not train on the requests we send and discards them per their API terms.
- Resend — sends the magic-link sign-in emails and billing notices.
- Neon — hosts the Postgres database that stores your account and CV content.
- Vercel — hosts the application code and stores uploaded résumé files via Vercel Blob.
We'll update this list if we add or change a subprocessor and give material notice via email before the change takes effect.
5. Your public CV page
Your CV page at baissoncv.app/yourname is public by design. Anyone with the URL can read it, and search engines can index it unless you turn that off in your dashboard.
Only the content you've put into the editor — and the visual template you've picked — is shown on the public page. We never surface your email, billing details, or upload history publicly.
Don't put information on your CV that you aren't comfortable making public.
6. AI and your data
When you use an AI suggestion on a Better or Best plan, we send the relevant portion of your CV (for example, the bullets of one experience entry) to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic returns the suggestion to us and we surface it to you for approval. The request is not used to train Claude.
When you upload a résumé on any plan, we run a content-extraction pass (text → structured CV) using Anthropic, and on Best we additionally run a vision-extraction pass to detect the visual layout. Both follow the same no-training, no-retention policy.
7. Community templates
When a Best-plan user uploads a résumé, we extract the abstracted visual design — section ordering, colour treatment, layout flags — and add it to a shared template library that other Best users can apply to their own content.
The community library does not contain your personal CV content. Only the structural template — the same as publishing a wireframe. The template gets an auto-generated name like "Modern split-row" with no reference to you.
You can ask us to remove a design you contributed by emailing victoradekunle312@gmail.com.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and CV for as long as your account is active. If you cancel a paid plan, your CV stays online on the free tier — deleting the account is a separate, explicit action.
When you delete your account, we remove your CV, your username, your uploaded file, and your community-template contributions from the live database within 7 days. Backups and logs may retain copies for up to 30 additional days before being purged.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Export your CV as a PDF or JSON Resume.
- Correct inaccurate data — most of which you can edit yourself in the dashboard.
- Delete your account and the data attached to it.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email victoradekunle312@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
11. Children
BaissonCV is not intended for people under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.
12. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: TLS in transit, encryption at rest, principle-of-least-privilege access internally, and dependency monitoring. No service is 100% immune to breach — if one happens, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours of confirming it.
13. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top will tell you when. For material changes, we'll email you in advance so you have time to review.
14. Contact
For any privacy question — including data requests, complaints, or general curiosity — email victoradekunle312@gmail.com.
